OKC Zoo

Our 1st trip to the zoo was a success! Great animals. Check. The paparazzi. Check. Cousin Gabe. Check. Both sets of grandparents and my sister Rebekka's family came for the adventure. So much love for two little souls (Jack and Gabe). The elephants were better than we imagined and the gorillas were too cool! The adventure lasted half a day but the memories will last forever! Tickets- $16, T-shirt- $15, Elephant stuffed animal- $20, The sparkle in Baby Jack's eyes- PRICELESS!

The time has come that Jack's #1 playmate is leaving for the Summer. I think they crammed a few playdates all into this one because they knew it would be a while! Kuba taught Jack how to climb our new arbor. Kuba, must you show off ALL your talents? Now I'm gonna be fightin' him all Summer! We loved our time with the Berman's tonight. We will see you in 8 short weeks Kuba! Have fun Seth, Linda, & Kuba and send us a postcard!

AMERICAN WORKERS....

American Workers...Gonna Have a Good Time! This was a lil' jingle in the Hardaway home when the kiddos were growing up. Big John used this to entice the "American Workers" in the family to help him with projects. We had the "King of Projects" at our house this weekend to tackle a ginormous (Webster definition- humongus: gigantic + enormous) task...an arbor for our backyard. John Jr. has become quite handy as well and was a key component to the construction project. We also had an American Worker in training and offered a little too much help at times:) THANK YOU, to two amazing men in my life for making my backyard so spectacular and a shout out to GranDee for helping me take good care of my sick baby this weekend! Some of my favorite memories at my Pepa and Mema's house was just a swingin' on their front porch- something I want to do with my little family.

The Zone

Fridays are free play for tots at The Zone! Wow...I just admitted that I have a "tot"! Jack and Kuba...what a pair they are. Usually the run down of a play date goes like this- Jack and Kuba play parallel and as far apart as possible. *Secret* The playdate is for Linda and I to have some adult conversation and give the kiddos some new toys to play with or to get them interested in their old toys (they become re-interested when someone is playing with their stuff)! Of all the toys at the gym, they loved the balls and the water fountain...go figure! Jack and Kuba made a step towards interacting together when we got them to give each other hugs:) We love our time with the Bermans...we are going to be sad when they leave for the Summer to go home to the Czech Republic!

John's 30th

John is now the big 3-0! In his next 30 years what amazing things will he do? He is a good man, a great dad, & amazing husband. I surprised him with some of his dearest high school and college friends at his parents house for a BBQ. Good times had by all...thanks to our families and friends for making John's birthday special. SURPRISE!

We Love Jesus & the Easter Bunny!!!

Easter was so much fun this year since Jack can really interact and show expression! Church is a little more difficult these days with a typical toddler, but we go anyways. One of us (John) usually ends up at the nearest playground or cry room. Jack now prays at meals and loves to put his hands together over and over and then claps for himself when we say "Amen!" The prayer usually consists of well wishes and thoughts for dogs, cats, and family members. How sweet it is to see your 1 year old praying! I also was able to provide snacks to Jack's daycare...rice crispy treat bird nests. It felt good to make and take a snack...I felt like a true mommy! Loved spending time with all our family this weekend. Jack Thomas and Conner William were two of the cutest Easter Bunnies around! The Easter Bunny was sooooo good to Jack! We love you Jesus and we love you Easter Bunny!!!

Perfect Weekend 4-8-11

We had the absolute BEST weekend ever! It started with breakfast, play time at the park, steaks at the farmers market, a little league baseball game, lunch at chik-fil-a, nap, grocery store, and finished off the day with a play date & popsicles with Jack's friend Kuba. LOVE, LOVE, LOVED THIS WEEKEND!!!
